There is no parking at Zilker Park during ACL. Transportation is a major part of your budget here. Whether you are taking the festival shuttle, Cap Metro, or rideshare, plan for that cost before you arrive. It is not a nice-to-have, it is how you get to and from the festival every day. Transportation
There is no festival parking at Zilker Park, and neighborhood parking in the surrounding area is heavily restricted. Plan to use one of these options to get there and back each day.
Festival Shuttle
ACL provides official festival shuttles with pricing and pickup locations to be announced closer to the event. Check aclfestival.com for details as October approaches. Source: official ACL getting here page.
Cap Metro Public Transit
Cap Metro buses serve Zilker Park during the festival. The MetroRapid Route 803 is specifically recommended by ACL. Cap Metro usually costs much less than rideshare, so it is a good option if you are watching your transportation costs. See capmetro.org for current fares and schedules.
Rideshare
Uber and Lyft serve Austin. Expect surge pricing at the end of each night once headliners finish and tens of thousands of people open their apps at the same time. Walking a few blocks away from the park before requesting a ride, or leaving slightly before the final song, cuts your wait and your fare. Cost varies by distance from your hotel.
Walking and Biking
If you are staying in South Congress or along Lady Bird Lake, Zilker Park is close enough to walk or bike via the Ann and Roy Butler Hike-and-Bike Trail. It is free and often the fastest way out at the end of the night if your hotel is along that route. Bike parking details will be confirmed closer to the festival.
Hotels Near Austin
Hotel rates during ACL weekends are much higher than what you would normally pay in Austin. Budget accordingly and book early. South Congress and downtown Austin properties fill up quickly once the lineup drops.
| Area | Est. ACL Weekend Rate |
|---|---|
| North Austin / IH-35 corridor (budget) | Around $120 to $180/night |
| South Austin chains | Around $150 to $220/night |
| South Congress / Lady Bird Lake (mid-range) | Around $260 to $450+/night |
| Downtown Austin (mid-range) | Around $250 to $400+/night |
| Downtown boutique / upscale | Around $400 to $800+/night |
These rate estimates come from Perplexity research using Hotels.com, TripAdvisor, and travel community data. Actual rates vary by property and availability. For specific hotels with distances and neighborhood details see the hotels near Austin guide.
Food and Drink Inside the Festival
ACL is known for strong food options, thanks to its Austin setting. Based on festival attendee reports from recent ACL years, expect the following rough ranges. These are estimates based on community reports, not confirmed 2026 prices.
| Category | Estimated range (community reports, not confirmed) |
|---|---|
| Food entree or plate | Around $14 to $22 |
| Snack items | Often $8 to $14 |
| Beer | Around $10 to $16 |
| Cocktails | Around $14 to $20 |
| Non-alcoholic drinks | Around $5 to $8 |
| Water | Free at the refill stations inside the park |
ACL allows empty reusable water bottles and hydration packs. Bringing one and using the free water stations inside is the easiest way to cut daily spend. Unlike festivals with no re-entry, ACL allows you to leave and return twice per day, which means you can grab food nearby if you want to step out.
Other Costs to Plan For
- Merch: Official festival and artist merchandise is sold inside. Budget separately if that is important to you.
- Tips: Food vendors and bartenders expect tips. Factor this into your daily food and drink budget.
- Parking options: ACL notes that parking in the broader Austin area may become available for purchase closer to the festival. No pricing has been confirmed yet. Check the official site for updates.
- Incidentals: Sunscreen, wipes, and anything you forgot will be available near the venue, but at higher prices. Pack what you need before you go.
